WHY CAN'T I SWIM, WORKOUT, OR HAVE SEX AFTER MY WAX?

Because we remove the hair from the follicle when waxing, your follicles are now open and exposed to the elements you introduce them to. Moisture creates an environment for bacteria to live and grow. What does that mean to you? If you choose to swim, soak, hot tub, sauna, work out, have sex, or touch the area, the oils from your hands and the moisture/ sweat from those activities is introduce into your follicles and will cause the follicles to become infected, resulting in white, puss filled, painful bumps. Most follicle infections can only be treated with antibiotics prescribed by a physician. Do yourself a favor, avoid all of these for at least 24 hours!

BRAZILIAN WAX WHILE ON MY PERIOD?

You may absolutely get waxed while on your period, as long as you use a tampon or menstrual cup! Waxing while on your period is slightly more painful due to increased blood flow to the area and hormonal changes. This however it does not affect me or the results of your wax!

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I BE EXFOLIATING AND USING LOTION?

You should use lotion everyday! It is important to choose a lotion without fragrance or alcohol, these ingredients irritate the skin and clog follicles. Choosing not to lotion daily will result in dry skin and uncomfortable ingrown hair(s). Applying lotion to the waxed area daily helps keep the skin smooth, and clear.

The frequency of exfoliating depends on your skin type and the method being used to exfoliate. At your waxing appointment I will assess your skin and hair type, you will be given recommendations for a regimen unique to you, that will keep your skin smooth and soft. Most people need to exfoliate 2-3 times a week.

WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE FOR MY WAX?

*Shower and lightly exfoliate the day of your appointment (this opens up the hair follicle making it easier for the hair to be removed)
*Wear loose or baggy clothes to avoid friction (NO yoga pants)
*Drink plenty of water
*If you are nervous about pain, I have numbing cream you can purchase prior to your appointment, you can also take a Tylenol or Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your wax appointment
